The Morgan Motor Company located in Britain doesn't change in a changing
world. Not only is it still independent, but it also makes each car by
hand. A base model is about $44,000, with some cars costing up to
$300,000.
People wait for over a year to get their exclusive hand-built cars with
the shell made out of metal and much of the vehicle made out of wood.
Working on the wood interior, workers use metal shears to individually
shape a hood because each car has to be different.
Every year Morgan produces about 600 cars. The company celebrated its
100th anniversary in 2011. It has a long and interesting history, and is
still run by the same family: the Morgans. Founded by Henry Frederick
Stanley Morgan known as "HFS", it was then run by his son Peter, and is
now run by Charles, the son of Peter Morgan.

World's Shortest Flight

A Scottish airline has won a contract to operate the world’s
shortest flight, on a route in the Orkney Islands, where journeys can last
as little as 47 seconds.
The regional airline Loganair, will continue to operate flights between
Westray and Papa Westray islands, fending off competition from two rival
operators.
The distance between the two locations stands is 1.7 miles, and can be
travelled in as little as 47 seconds, depending on the direction of the
wind.
The Scottish airline has been running the world's shortest flight, since
the start of its inter-island service in the region in 1967. The flight
between Westray and Papa Westray is currently priced at $21 return.
The eight-seat Islander aircraft also transports 4 pupils from the smaller
Papa Westray Island, to the larger Westray Island, daily for High School.

State of Origin News
The streets of the world's newest capital city, are named after Queensland
State of Origin greats, and nobody seems to know why.
Juba, the capital of South Sudan, has a grid of streets named after various
Maroons greats, including Arthur Beetson, Mal Meninga, Wally Lewis,
Johnathon Thurston, Allan Langer, Paul Vautin, Darren Lockyer, Cameron
Smith, and Gene Miles.
Images on Google Earth show the streets, with the names. There's also a
Queenslander Drive, Australia Street, and Koala Drive.

The inventive 10-year-old lad from the Norwegian town of Dokka, 110km north
of the capital Oslo, had taken his 18-month-old sister in the car, in an
attempt to visit their grandparents 60km away.
The 6am journey, started while his parents were still asleep, was halted
after 10km, when he veered off the road and into a ditch, where a
snowplough operator found him, and alerted authorities.
When questioned, the boy said he was a dwarf, but had left his driver's
licence at home. By this time the parents had woken and raised the alarm,
after discovering their children and car were missing.
Happily, neither of the children were injured, and the car also escaped
damage. No charges will be filed, but police were speaking to the parents,
about closer control of their car keys.

This is the biggest load to be moved in West Australia. It weighed over 700
tons with four trucks towing and two pushing it on the gravel. They were
travelling at 4 Km per hour on the gravel reaching 6Km hour on the bitumen,
the distance to the new mine is 230 Km they drove up to 15 hours a day
taking 6 days to reach their destination (this also included becoming
bogged with four front end loaders having trouble pulling it out)

The International New York Times edition published in Kuala Lumpur, carried
a page-one story noting increased worldwide demand by meat processors, for
pigs raised in the fresh air, rather than enclosed in pens, which was
illustrated by a photograph of a cluster of pigs feeding in an outdoor
stall. However, the Malaysian printer, who had downloaded the digital pages
and set them to paper, had added black boxes to cover just the faces of
each pig in the photo. A publisher's spokesman said, "This is a Muslim
country, and we don't allow nudity in our papers."
